CENTRAL MACKENZIE VALLEY AREA.
PRD Energy was started with the purchase of 850,000 gross acres of land south of Norman wells oil production in 1997 and now includes four exploration licences and five freehold leases. The Northwest Territories is one of the last under-explored frontier exploration areas in North America. PRD Energy has participated in the drilling of nine exploration wells resulting in two significant discoveries, 2 cased wells that require further production testing and five dry holes.
The significant discovery at Summit Creek B-44 flowed gas at 20mmscfd and associated condensate at 6,300 bpd from Devonian age reservoirs during flow testing.
The second significant discovery at Stewart Lake D-57 flowed hydrocarbons from Cretaceous age reservoirs during drill stem tests in 2006.
